AP airspeed is "fighting" with throttle

Release 1.1.2 did resolve the visual "fighting" of the two systems … which resulted in the jumping throttle.

However, the "physical flight model fight" is still present.

    • use "clear skies" weather … no wind no turbulence
    • Set an airspeed of … say … 180 ktas via the throttle
    • enjoy a smooth flight
    • set AP airspeed to … say … 250 ktas
    • … active AP and AP airspeed HOLD
    • watch how the airspeed indicator now seems to oscillate between those two settings

Since both setpoints seem to be applied (very shortly after each other?) there is some kind of "stable" airspeed … but the results are mixed … and the aircraft flies less "smooth" … it feel like a accelerate - decelerate oscillation.

If I move the throttle after activating the AP airspeed it seems like often the manual throttle will override the physics of the airspeed … but not the visual throttle position.

I could provide a movie if necessary.

    1. Unfortunately, this can't be easily prevented. The throttle animations were deactivated when autopilot is active to prevent the visual fighting between the controls, but this continues to occur in the backend, hence the oscillation. Haven't been able to find a way to cut the throttle input when the speed hold is on. Keep in mind that the Speed Hold autopilot is custom-coded, as the default autopilot does not function correctly with the VTOL characteristics.

Perhaps then some kind of related note in the manual would be useful … so that users will be able to understand what they see, and that it is (for the time being) considered "normal" (= expected behaviour).
