Assigning Functions to the Joystick

In Supercarrier Pro, some functions (brakes, flaps, ailerons, pitch, etc., work. Others don’t. (Landing gear, trim.) please advise.

Also, it’s incredibly cumbersome to have to redirect the camera, go to curser mode, scroll to functions like landing gear, launch bar, tailhook, lights, etc., press A to interact, then adjust or toggle. By that time, I’ll probably have crashed.

Can I assign these functions to joystick or throttle? How would I do that?

    1. Hello Tony,

In Supercarrier Pro, some functions (brakes, flaps, ailerons, pitch, etc., work. Others don’t. (Landing gear, trim.) please advise.

I would need some more information on this. Which aircraft, under what conditions it doesnt work (eg. if it upon spawning on the carriers? what do you mean by landing gear not functioning - is it not retracting?

Please also make sure your assist settings are at least "Medium", preferably "True to Life".

Also, it’s incredibly cumbersome to have to redirect the camera, go to curser mode, scroll to functions like landing gear, launch bar, tailhook, lights, etc., press A to interact, then adjust or toggle. By that time, I’ll probably have crashed.

No joystick interactions are available currently. Some features can be toggled "always on" - eg. Modern Arrestors can be toggled always on under the config Tab of the Supercarrier Pro app. This would mean you do not have manually activate modern arrestors while inflight.

Other settings, such as operating the elevators and catapults do require manual inputs through the Supercarrier app - but this should not affect your flying experience in any way as all interactions occur while on the ground, and likely stationary on the deck.

All other aircraft-specific functions (operating the landing gear, tailhook, aircraft lights) are not affected by Supercarrier Pro in any way and continue functioning with any keybinds you have assigned already.

      1. I've seen some Xbox users also connect a mouse for easier operation. If you have a wireless or wired mouse laying around that may help as well:https://www.popsci.com/diy/xbox-to-keyboard-and-mouse/#:~:text=Connecting a mouse and keyboard to your Xbox is simple, difference which ones you use.

When I have the F-14A/B on the Nimitz the air brake is on and the front hook is ahead of the arrester, and when I’m in F-35C hook is behind the arrester. Throttle doesn't work in either models. Not really sure of all the steps or assigned keys for a carrier take off, Please can some one help.

Everything works, have the drop down to choose catapult, launch bar down, but I can’t seem to get the crews attention???

              1. Supercarrier Pro requires you to arm the catapult and send the launch command directly from the Toolbar App. Once you have stopped at the catapult, a yellow checkmark will enable on the Carrier App. You must then click on it for the catapult to arm. A few seconds after, a Green arrow will enable to initiate the launch sequence.

What aircraft work with the carrier take offs? Thank you so much for all of your help and the link to the manual thank you so much.

                    1. Supercarrier Pro is universally compatible with any aircraft that may exist on MSFS.

I’m on the carrier lining up to rig up and in the control panel it says “ Your not in range of a compatible carrier. I can click on the cat I want, and turn the blue chevrons to a grey check mark, but nothing happens

                    1. Are you on the right carrier? This message will only show up if you are not at a carrier included with Supercarrier Pro.

All carriers included can be found by ICAO code, all listed here: https://docs.miltechsimulations.com/v/supercarrier-pro/supercarriers/worldwide-locations

I’m on the Nimitz just NE Ohau

                        1. There is no Nimitz NE of Oahu included with Supercarrier Pro. The nearest Supercarrier location is Ford-Class west of Kailua, ICAO FM03

That Nimitz belongs to another Carrier product.
