MSFS 2024 - COMPATIBILITY AND ROADMAP
A new era on Flight Simulation has arrived - welcome Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024! We are incredibly excited for all this new simulator brings, including our collaboration with Microsoft on the C-17 Globemaster III, available now for Premium Deluxe!
We've been preparing for this day, and that has included a complete review of our product catalog to ensure compatibility with FS24. To ensure compatibility of our products with the simulator, nearly all products will require updates to function correctly. “Sideloading” content (eg. Using FS20 versions on FS24) does NOT function correctly. As of today, none of our products are “Backwards Compatible”, meaning that separate versions for the different simulators are required. MS Marketplace customers may get access to “Ported FS20 versions” of Miltech products on FS24. We strongly advise against using these, as they are likely to contain several bugs.
-
No official updates will be available on Day One. We need a few days to test on a reliable, stable Sim build before releasing to the public.
-
All FS20 to FS24 Updates will be free of charge. You may expect the same features in FS20, with perhaps a few improvements and bugfixes pending as planned.
-
FS24-Specific Features (Careers, Walkarounds, External Checklist Items, etc.) may be added in future updates, subject to demand and complexity.
-
Native FS24 “V2” Updates (Aircraft products rebuilt natively for FS24, with various system/3D improvements, and full compatibility with new features) may be available in the future, and subject to an additional Upgrade cost.
-
Product Releases will continue for FS20 and FS24. We plan to release an unannounced aircraft product by end of year. Announced products (U2, CH53, etc.) are scheduled for 2025.
-
We have been unable to test the new “Streaming of Content” on FS24. As such, our recommendation is that all content is fully downloaded from the FS24 Marketplace before use. We are afraid that Streaming may not function correctly with Carrier and Aircraft products.
