MH60 Autopilot Hover and related settings acting erratic
Anytime I use the AP for the purpose of hover, approach, or depart along with the associated altitude knobs, it's acts very erratically. I set it to 20ft hover and it shoots up like a jet from the tarmac to 50 feet and the buttons don't light up green. It's stuff like that and every combination you can think of of using the depart or approach or hover. Lots of diving into the ground and crashing and no buttons lighting up green. Came to a manual hover above a ship and hit the AP button and the hover button adjusted to 40 feet and the bird Flys backwards as fast as can go. And no the forward and backward knob was at zero. The buttons don't light up green until I repeatedly hit them a few times but at that point the bird is already going crazy.
The AP is just acting weird.

Make sure "GLASS COCKPIT REFRESH RATE" is set to Medium or High on your MSFS Graphic settings.
It sounds like the refresh rate of the autopilot system is too low, resulting in aggressive/erratic behaviour on your side. Increasing this slider will increase the refresh rate, therefore smoothing out the transitions.

Unfortunately it has always been set to high and I tried it again just now on 2024 and the AP and hover and depart do not light up but the bird will shoot into the air like a rocket (from dead still on tarmac ready to takeoff) and when I hit depart it crashes back down to the earth.

Any chance you can record a video of this?
If the lights dont light up it means the AFCS is not connected correctly/disconnecting for some reason. Under either conditions, you cannot expect it behaving correctly as it isn’t connected

I'm really hoping it's just me but I started hot and ready with the first Spanish mission in the Hub pack. I manually went into a hover then attempted to press AP and hover mode but wouldn't work or light up. This was after I created the video.

You are not using autopilot correctly. The video is displaying functioning of all autopilot modes.
Autopilot cannot be engaged on the ground. It automatically disconnects on Weight on Wheels. You must first take off, then engage Autopilot, then engage the modes for it to work correctly.
Only RAD ALT or BARO ALT or HOVER MODE or CREW HOVER can be engaged at a time. Only one - not all four. They all manage altitude differently.

Oh I see, I'm just curious though as to why the helicopter flies by itself erratically despite the weight on wheels. AP isn't supposed to work with weight on wheels but the helicopter reacts when the buttons are pushed despite that.
