MH60 - SERVER ACTIVATION

This morning, we experienced our first-ever outage of the Activation Server used by the MH-60. Unfortunately, part of our team was offline at the time, which delayed an immediate response. The MH-60 uses a server-based activation system to validate product keys, confirm you’re running the latest version, and enable online features such as Flight Plan Sync with INSPlanner.

We have identified the root cause: an unmonitored database update caused the activation server to disconnect for several hours. Measures are already being put in place to prevent this from happening again.

We also want to address concerns expressed by some users regarding the activation system. The approach is very similar to how Microsoft Flight Simulator itself is activated:

    • If your PC is online, the license is checked against our server, once every time the aircraft is loaded.
    • If you are offline, the aircraft remains activated provided it was successfully validated at least once before. However, online-only features will not be available in offline mode.

Finally, in the unlikely event that our servers are permanently shut down, we will ensure a migration path to a fully offline solution is in place.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused today and thank you for your patience and feedback as we continue to improve the reliability of our systems.
