When will user created missions be able to be cloud saved on Xbox?
-
When will we be able to access and download other user’s missions via cloud on Xbox?

When will the Mission Hub be able to fully function when set to streamed (as opposed to installed)? My goal is to have Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 eventually running with all of my enabled addons streamed, for smaller footprint and shorter loading times.
I had assumed at least some of the above would have been developed and implemented by now, based on previous correspondence with Miltech Sims, several months ago.
Thank you!
Miltech Simulations @MiltechSimulationsRegarding points 1 and 2, our "Mission Portal" is now ongoing testing. This will enable users to share, save and create missions in the cloud. Please understand that developing multiplatform cloud infrastructure has a number of challenges for a small team like ours, but we are finally closer to a first production release.
Regarding point 3, this problem does not relate to our product, but rather to the streaming infrastructure Asobo has built for MSFS. This structure, though great for aircraft and sceneries, just does not work well with toolbar applications that run multiple layers of code. Mission Hub must be installed, and this is unlikely to change.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply! That’s great to hear we’re getting close to cloud saves and sharing on Xbox. I was just worried the development might have halted, so I appreciate the update.
Regarding having to be installed, I somewhat understand. However, I do have several other toolbar addons that work just fine streaming. Some seem they’re somewhat complex as well, I.e. have to connect to other servers, etc. might I ask specifically what keeps Mission Hub from being able to operate similarly?
Again, thanks for the quick turnaround, and keep up the good work! Just added your Mirage to my collection this morning. Looking forward to shredding the skies with ole girl!
Miltech Simulations @MiltechSimulationsWe display full-screen UI elements (the map, corner menu, mission objectives, image overlays), none of which seem to stream correctly.
Additionally, we read and write files from WASM work folders, which often fails when streamed.

Interesting. Yeah, I can see how those specific things could be complex to make work via streaming.
My main frustration is that installing things quickly leads to issues with the sim platform itself. Corrupted data, long load times. Even if only installing a minimal amount of content. No scenery or liveries, just a handful of aircraft and misc content like improved runway lights. I’m guessing changes over time lead to inefficient fragmented clusters of data. Even though everything’s on SSD, there’s definitely a correlation between the more you add/remove/update installed content, the more it causing issues with the sim. Things just seem to work better when streaming. You can always start fresh by clearing reserve storage, but then you have to manually go through and enable or disable the things you want, which is a drag when you have as many add-ons as I do.
To be honest, the fact that your Mission Hub has to remain installed, and not wanting to redo my custom missions each time I clear reserved storage…is the main reason that keeps me from ever wanting to clear my reserved storage and start fresh every month or so when the sim inevitably becomes too screwy.
This is the driving reason why I would love to see you figure out a way to make Mission Hub capable of being left enabled as streaming. That is my wish, but I also understand what you’re saying.
Thanks again for the info.
