Rotor motion stutter during shutdown and startup

    v1.0.4 … and prior

I have watched this many times and it clearly is a reproducible pattern (and I now have made a video … which I can upload if needed)

When I turn off the last main turbine and the rotors switch from the blurred rendering to the actual "rotor blade 3D shapes" rotating … there is a well defined angle, at which it feels like the rotation is skipping some angle during one (or a few frames).

I have filmed it at 30 FPS-vsync … and it is (very likely) always the same angle … so it is "periodic" in some sense.

In this video … https://www.objectfarm.org/Public/Misc/2022.12.03-MSFS-MV22B-Bug-Rotor_motion_stutter.mp4 … you see

          • 0:04 … engine shutdown
          • 0:14 … DevMode … 30 FPS vsync … fairly constant 33,3 ms per frame
          • 0:24 … switch from "blurred discs" to 3D blade shapes
            • now the slower the rotor gets the better one can see the discontinuity of rotation
            • in VLC I can reduce the playback speed … which makes it even easier to see … or step frame by frame
          • it seems to happen on each 360 deg rotation … so it is always the same blade which is pointing towards the tail, when it happens
            • and when the rotor stops, that blade points forward)

I have no idea which info the sim is providing to the aircraft … e.g. how precise the timestamps or time-delta information between sim frames is … but something in the calculations is causing that discontinuity.

v1.0.5 … produces nice, smooth rotation.

            Looks fixed to me.
